Your local electrician in Livingston

Livingston is home. We are based here and work in every part of the town, from Craigshill, Ladywell and Knightsridge to Dedridge, Murieston, Eliburn, Adambrae and Deans.

Lots of homes here were built as the new town grew in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Many still have their first fuse box and too few sockets for modern life and more and more drives now need an EV charger. We also work for firms at the business parks at Houstoun and Kirkton Campus.

We are based in Livingston, so the whole town is close to home for us. Every district is a short trip away. We cover the old villages in the town too, like Livingston Village and Bellsquarry.

How the new town was built

Livingston became a new town on 16 April 1962. The first new homes went up at Deans. The first people moved into Craigshill in April 1966. Howden, Ladywell and Knightsridge followed in the late 1960s. Dedridge came in the 1970s. The Livingston Development Corporation ran the building from 1962 until 1997.

Many early houses were built in a factory and put up on site. In Craigshill, lots of homes are low concrete blocks with roofs that slope one way. About 56,000 people now live in the town.

That means many homes here are around 50 years old or more. Some still have their first fuse box. Some have had bits of wiring added over the years and some have not. A check of your fuse box and wiring tells us what is worth doing first.

What we get called out for in Livingston

New fuse boxes

An old fuse box with no RCD protection is common in the first new town homes. We fit a modern one and test every circuit.

Rewires in 1960s and 70s homes

If the wiring is tired, we rewire room by room. We plan it with you so you are never without power for long.

EV chargers on the drive

Got a drive or your own space by the door? We check your supply first, then fit a charger in the right spot.

Work for local firms

We help businesses at Houstoun and Kirkton Campus with lighting, repairs and new power for their units.
